他少了一根肋骨，而她将用一生去懊悔：

当亚当对上帝说：“是她让我去做的”。

夏娃学到“学习”是一件危险的事情：

它将带来无穷的麻烦。

受过教育的女人是一种危险。

锁好你的伴侣！饲养一个驯服的陌生人

保持贞洁和女德，满足于礼拜和育儿，

而不是像圣女贞德，里外被烧成灰儿。

无论我们挥舞的是权杖还是扫把

你们都显然害怕我们翻身上位。

如果我们能够成功登顶--我说这个并无敌意——

我们的宽容大度可不是你们教的。

Eve learned that learning was a dangerous thing

for her: no end of trouble would it bring.

An educated woman is a danger.

Lock up your mate! Keep a submissive stranger

like Darby's Joan, content with church and Kinder,

not like that sainted Joan, burnt to a cinder.

Whether we wield a scepter or a mop

It's clear you fear that we may get on top.

And if we do -I say it without animus-

It's not from you we learned to be magnaminous.
